It’s unique situation as leader. There is scenario which seems out of control. Still, as a leader one has to show the confidence & calmness.
“Communicate tough target”, The situation needs behaviour change, at the same time there should not be panic. So, expectation is to develop habit slowly & prepare everyone for new extended habit. It’s about implementing things in steps without creating panic, rather than recommending one week lock down at home, recommended one day lock down. Once person achieves this milestone, person will be willing to try higher target, say one week lock down, with assured supply chain.
“Tell stories”, as a leader, one needs to motivate team by telling relevant stories, experiences. The war time preparation story was one such example, during those days people can live in darkness, now, people can stay within home with all facilities.
“Recognise performers”, recognising the contributions, who are putting their lives at stake to help society by five mins activity.
“Give Hope”, it’s learning from US & other countries that no point in rushing for a market friendly announcements. No point of using all weapons right now on market-economy sentiments when the larger enemy is not under control. Formed a committee, but announcements at right time
