To judge a talent, what’s the easiest question to ask. I feel that “your views plz” is the right simple question.

We get very less opportunity to judge a talent in routine business. When we are looking for talent for leadership, we need to understand depth of knowledge also. May be by asking a question like “what will be election result, how many seats !?, what’s your view about state or central budget !? What’s your view about this consumer gift offer !? What’s your views about distribution channel discount !? What’s your view about any current global issue !? What’s your view about stock price- P&L of particular company!? How the population & consumption will grow!? Your views about end users & their finance !? Your views about demand -supply!?

If you are supposed to answer such questions, don’t shy away, don’t think these questions doesn’t matter as you are achieving your numbers. A lot depends on how you answer these questions. You are constantly evaluated, your thought process, your logics, your reading habits, your networking skills are getting judged by such questions.

The most important thing getting judged is how honest you are in your replies, are you willing to express your views without getting afraid or influenced, are you looking for short term gain or long term benefits while you analyse situation & answer, are you able to generate ideas-options or you keep seeking guidance, all these small small interactions & observations create perception about talent.

Next question, how much to prepare for such questions !?... the answer is how much you want to grow !?

Satisfaction, when your answers become part of speech of your seniors, become part of their PPTs, & most importantly when they are asked their views 😁. Sometimes, it’s their way of validating their own views by asking you for double verification.

Yes, easiest question..... most difficult to answer.... as a lot is going to get picked from the answer.
